Founded circa 1920, and for the 90-plus years since, it has been an institution in Montgomery. From the beginning it was a family endeavor, and it has survived through four generations of Marshalls. I think it was located right at this spot when I moved here 60-something years ago, and while it probably doesn’t, I recall it looking exactly like it does today. At that time it dominated the local hi-end millwork industry, and its family orientation was renowned. Back then its letterheadĀ showed Frederick Marshall, President; Fred Marshall Jr VP; J B Marshall VP; W B Marshall Secretary; and J R Marshall Treasurer. And on top of all that, they ran the operation in a professional manner and turned out really great work.
