has been in operation since the 1930s, and is located on Carter Hill Road at Narrow Lane, in the Country Club Shopping Center. In the 1950s it was in an old house about three blocks further West on Carter Hill. I had a business partner who adored the place, and was a frequent customer for at least 60-years. Martin’s is noted for its Southern home style cooking, featuring pulley bone fried chicken, corn bread, and slices of chocolate meringue pie as big as your face. Truly, Martin’s has earned its place as a beloved Montgomery culinary institution, alongside the Sahara, the Elite, the Frances, the Beverly, the Blue Moon, the Ranch, Dale’s Penthouse and Chris’ Hotdogs.
